We are still subjected to laws that deny our humanity and even our existence. At other times, a real feeling of safety is elusive for many of us. For many lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) people, Pride - the centerpiece of which is today’s celebration - is the one time during the year when we can be our true selves.
